For those among the persons who visit my blog who I know admire and respect Pete Townshend:
There is now a petition under way for the re-launch of Pete's old web site, PETETOWNSHEND.COM.
The petition is not meant in any way to force Pete's hand nor to get him do anything against his will (if that is even possible), simply to express the support the decision to re-launch the site would receive from the fans, i.e. to show that the fans do care. The decision is, as always, his and depends on his wishes and motivations. Some may think it won't have any influence anyway so what's the use. But if one doesn't try, one never finds out if it COULD have.
The petition was launched on sunday and so far (friday) has 167 names already. It will be delivered to Pete on monday.
If you support the idea, do go to the above link and sign. Thank you!

Hi Maria, I will certainly mention it to Koos, who I'm sure will sign. For myself, I admire and love Pete's music and work, but have never followed his blogs or website, so in a way, it would be out of character for me to do so now. However, if it will help achieve that object for those who I know enjoyed his writing and web pages so much, then I will sign too. Anything to help my friends...of whom you are most definitely one - even if only a cyber friend.

belated welcome back to blogdom. I liked your comment on signature page. I signed up for who2 site, but they wanted money, so i didn't join.
i do miss reading what pete has to say. i would pay for his own site, just not that interested with who2. They are playing Detroit. i had a choice between 125.00 for who2 tickets or 59.00 for tickets to see buckethead. Though they are donating the money to charity (very cool) i just feel i would get more bang for my buck with buckethead. gotta give love to guy who wears a chicken bucket on his head and plays a mean guitar.
also i am really enjoying your pictures. some of your compositions are fantastic!

Hi Ronny. I had great doubts about the website and especially didn't like the idea of Pete's blog being included in the subscription scheme; seemed too much like people were now expected to take "access" to Pete as a privilege and pay for it. Still, to give it the benefit of doubt, I paid the subscription. And all I my doubts turned out true. Thanks for the words about my photographs!

I read your comment Maria and seems that you have gone ballistic over www.thewho.com lately and I can understand that.
I cannot really see www.thewho.com as a creative outlet for Pete. As a Who-fan since 1965 I of course searched for everything Who-related on the web when I got my first Internet connection at home twelve years ago and I saw www.petetownshend.co.uk emerge before my very eyes including the first diary (blog before blog was invented... )he wrote there.
Loved it, miss it.
P.S. I wont' renew my subscription for www.thewho.com
Only if and when I need it to get special fan-tickets for some upcoming The Who- gig nearby :)
