Yep, I've taken water pictures before but only now with the kind of success I wanted: my aim was to photograph the fast-moving water of a fountain with fast shutter speed so that the water droplets and movement of the water would be frozen in a kind of sculpted state, with surface shapes, contours and so on clearly visible. The problem was that the digital compact I used to have wasn't up to the task. The Canon Eos 450D clearly is. This is taken with 1/2500 shutter speed, f5.6 and ISO 800, then did a bit of fine-editing of the original RAW.
Btw, don't forget to check out the Vappu pictures in the link at the end of the previous post!

I think you captured the droplets terrifically. frozen in motion. That is a hard shot to grab. They almost look like mercury melting. Nice one.
The second picture in Vappu is that something like a Maypole swing?
No, the people who wash and "cap" the statue are lifted up on a crane and then lowered close to the statue so they can do the job - the statue is quite high up and in the middle of a large fountain.
What an awesome shot, Maria. The drops and the colours are just phenomenal. My husband liked it a lot too (I had to show him), and he is quite into photography.

Love this water stop-motion photo. And love the bit of red color near the "crest". Well done!
This reminds me a lot of that famous Japanese tidal wave painting (forget what it's called... )
Excellent water shot Maria. Amazing what a good photographer can do with some good equipment. You have to be the good photographer first thought!
