LOST EVENINGS

Yes, I could have been a judge but I never had the Latin, never had the Latin for the judging. I just never had sufficient of it to get through the rigorous judging exams. They're noted for their rigour. People came staggering out saying 'My God what a rigorous exam' - and so I became a miner instead. A coal miner. I managed to get through the mining exams - they're not very rigorous. They only ask you one question. They say 'Who are you?', and I got 75% for that.

ok, have to ask, was the shopping cart there, or was it placed? because that is pretty odd
Hi Grace,
It was there. There's grocery stores some way away so I guess some kids snatched one of the shopping carts.
Haha, Maria, shipping carts are their own life form! They get everywhere, don't they. Maybe you could do a shopping cart series ;-) I have seen them in canals, in parks, outside people's houses and even in the harbour next to my boat.
Even so, this makes a special photo statement doesn't it? Maybe even a comment on the ubiquitous nature of man's intrusion into the natural world. Or is that a bit too heavy? From a purely artistic note, I love the light and the stretched shadows. It looks as it you stage lit it, but maybe there was a handy streetlamp nearby?
Ah yes, the abandoned shopping cart. It's more usual to find them at the edge of a sidewalk near an apartment complex or homes, not in the woods.
I like the juxtaposition of urbanity and nature. Nice work.
